Continuously scrutinized by satellites sent into orbit, the Earth unveils itself to expose the impacts of climate change and its evolution.
By gaining altitude, the photo exhibition SATELLI-TERRE offers you a dizzying journey into the heart of spatial imagery, revealing the importance of observation satellites; these original paparazzi of space.

Observing, analyzing, understanding the Earth from space
Intensified since the industrial revolution, climate change brings about major, sometimes devastating changes that we all face.
Out of 50 climate variables examined to describe the climate, 26 can only be observed from space. To study and visualize climate change and its consequences on our planet on a larger scale, original paparazzi are sent into space.
Who are they? They are observation satellites.
What are their goals? To observe, collect, analyze data, and photograph events using various measurement instruments on board.
How many are there? Since the first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, launched into space in 1957 to study our atmosphere, more than 1,000 other satellites dedicated to observing the Earth have been put into orbit.
But what is a satellite? How does it stay in orbit and what data does it collect, for what purposes?
