A witness to the site\u2019s mining past, the \u201cMont Ost\u00e8ne\u201d is a \u201cterril\u201d (slag heap) 70m tall. Feel free to explore its ecosystem and enjoy the stunning view it boasts of the region from its summit. <\/p>\n

Slag heaps, created by coalmining activities, have gradually been colonised by plants since the mines closed, irreversibly changing the region\u2019s landscape.

SPARKOH!<\/b> has been awarded the \u201cBienvenue \u00e0 v\u00e9lo\u201d (Bikes welcome) label, and is intersected by line 98C of the RAVeL network, a former railway line that used to connect the region\u2019s coalmines, from Frameries to Hornu.<\/p>\n

Today, the RAVeL is a network of tracks and paths studded with works of art, thanks to the not-for-profit organisation \u201cBlanc Murmure\u201d. So hop on your bike or slip into your trainers, and finish off a ride or walk through nature at the SPARKOH!<\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
