Would you like to make the most of the weekend to go out with your family? Fancy going for a walk with friends, or why not enjoy some peace and quiet to find out more about science on your own? SPARKOH! is a unique science centre based in Frameries in the heart of Hainaut, in Belgium!

Every day of the year, from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and on Sundays, school holidays and public holidays from 10am to 6pm, SPARKOH! invites young and old to discover STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) through more than fifteen interactive scientific exhibitions and fun areas (the playground and an acrobatic course), themed films and edutainment activities supervised by our scientific intermediaries, as well as all sorts of scientific challenges to tackle.

Discovering science

It’s raining?

No problem! You can explore the 12,000m² of indoor space and make the most of all the brilliant experiences available. Wander through the exhibits and have a go at some of the fun challenges. Challenge your Dad, Mum, brothers, sisters… compare how you get on, find your way around like a real explorer, ask a thousand and one questions, handle, touch, feel, observe and marvel at the answers and the wonders of science while having fun!

Some of our challenges for you to tackle:
    • See where the fancy takes you and give in to your curiosity
    • Overtake Usain Bolt on the athletics track
    • Observe some pondlife while lying on the net
    • Compare your brain to that of a cat
    • Find the missing element from the Periodic table

The sun’s out?

Every day, nature is evolving in our Biodiversity Garden. Not had the chance to come with your family yet?
Explore the local flora and fauna. Is there a bird in one of those nesting boxes? Spotted some bees near the sandy area? Earthworms in the subsoil?

Some of our challenges for you to tackle:
  • Look out at the landscape from the top of the observatory…
  • Lie down on the net and observe the pond..
  • Take off your shoes for the trail and get in touch with nature right to the tips of your toes
  • Take a picture in the willow hut

Food and drink

You can enjoy one of the hot or cold home-made dishes available, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, pasta and daily specials. Alternatively, you can eat your picnic outside on the terrace of OH!RESTO : please make sure you stay with your family bubble and maintain social distancing.

Hot and cold drinks available. Desserts also available in the afternoon.
